One Week Safari

Selous and Mafia
This itinerary is suited for those wanting to get a quick glimpse of Tanzania’s wild life and beaches away from the standard northern circuit – Zanzibar combined.

Starting in Dar es Salaam, spend a couple of days enjoying the city’s restaurants and craft shopping, perhaps together with a museum visit or a cultural tourism tour.
Depart Dar es Salaam to Selous game reserve , once in selous, spend several days enjoying the lodges , the boat safaris, the wild life and amazing night sounds especially hippos grunting in the Rufiji River.
From selous you can take direct flight to mafia island , spend the remaining few days of your stay here in one of the lodges diving and snorkeling or sailing to some smaller islands to get a glimpse into the archipelago’s Swahili culture and long history before flying back to dare s salaam..

Twelve days Safari

Tarangire national park, Ngorongoro, Lake Natroni, Serengeti, Lake Victoria .
Starting from Arusha, spend a first night in Arusha before driving to Tarangire national park, The beautiful Baobab – studded all the park stretches along its namesake river and cover 2850 sq km where you spend one night, though adjacent preserves help protect the extended eco system, Tarangire id the second highest (after Serengeti) concentration of wildlife of any Tanzania national park and the largest concentration of elephants in the world. Larger head of zebras, wildebeest, hartebeest, eland, Oryx, waterbuck, giraffes and buffalos gather along the Tarangire River and several permanent swamps.


From Tarangire drive to Lake Natron shimmering amid the sun – scorched Kenyan boulder north east of Ngorongoro Conservation area. This 58 km long but just 50cm deep alkaline lake. Drive through the traces the rift valley escapement through untrammeled Masai land with small bomas and always in view on this almost treeless plain. After the drive the lake, the lake itself is a secondary; except during the Jun and November breeding season when upward of three millions of flamingo gather here, it is the most important flamingo breeding site in East Africa, you will visit the small oasis of Engaresero ( this is amasai world meaning impermanent water).

From lake Natron drive to the vast plains of the Serengeti, nature’s mystery, power and beauty sorounding you like few other places. It is here that one of the earth’s most impressive natural cycles has played out of eons as hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, driven by primeval rhythms of survival. The most famous and numerous are the wildebeest (of which there are some 1.5 million) and their annual migration in the Serengeti’s calling card give you a big chance to see the big 5, there spend 2 nights in Lobo area.
After 2 nights in lobo drive to Lake Victoria the Tanzania’s half of Africa’s largest lake sees few visitors but the region holds many attraction for those with bent for the off beast and desire to immerse themselves in the rhythms of local life beyond the tourist trial. The city of Musoma and Kuboka have quite water side charm while most villagers on Ukerewe Island follow a substance lifestyle with little connection to the world beyond the shore. If you have a time you will surely leave this little Conner of Tanzania with new experience and wonderful memories on water sports, life experience, etc. you will spend 2 nights at lake Victoria.


From Lake Victoria drive to central Serengeti for exploring the vast of the plains and Kopjes, central Serengeti is the most visited area of the park, spend 2 nights in the central Serengeti, them from there can take flight to Arusha or drive by road to Arusha

Two weeks safari

North Easten Tanzania

First week: after several days in Dar es salaam, including a visit to historical Bagamoyo , travel north ward to explore the pangani area with its beaches and along history, and enjoy Tanga , with its remkable ambience and excursion. A good detour en route to Saadan National Park with its beach and its wild life. 

Second week: Leave tanga and drive to lushoto and western usambara, botanist and birders can detour en route to Amani Nature reserve in the eastern Usanbara , with its cool forest walks and traditional medicinal displaying the rains, the round up to Amani become muddy, but the symphony of birds and insects in surroundings forest is unbeatable.

After exploring the Usambaras, continue north and fly out of Kilimanjaro airport, or return to dare s salaam. If time allows en route north, you could stop at Mkomazi national park , while you likely won’t see mkomazi’s rhinos, the park is complete topographical contrast to the lushness of the usambaras and rewarding stop especially for birding .Another possible detour is to the pare mountain for more hiking and getting to know local pare culture.

North Easten Tanzania

One Month Safari

The southern highlands & Western Tanzania
Heading southwest from Dar es Salaam you will quickly find yourself in the scenic Southern highlands a good first stop for a night or two en route to the highlands is Mikumi national Park with its easily spotted wildlife. From mikumi it is straightforward to Udizungwa mountain national park where backpackers and adventure travelers can enjoy several days hiking up the steep, moist, lushly vegetated slope.Altenatively, continue from Mikumi to Iringa which make relaxing base. Once in Iringa two or three night detour to Ruaha National park is easy arranged and well worth the effort.
From Iringa it’s a straight shot down the highway to Mbeya , with stops en route at the lovely Kisolanza just off the main highway or at scenic Mufindi, with its tea plantations, both merit at least several days for relaxing and exploring.
While town is not as amenable as iringa, there is plenty to do in the surroundings areas including hiking around Tukuyu or canoeing, exploring and hiking around Matema with its picturesque beach.
Taking your time , and exploring the various detour enroots, it would be easy enough to spend the first three weeks of your itinerary up to this point .With the remaining time , you could return the way you come with time left over at the end for a short stay on Zanzibar or mafia islands.
if you’ve kept a brisker pace, omitting detour, you should have time to continue north west from mbeya via sumbawanga to Katavi National park. This park deserves at least three days, especially in the dry season, when wildlife watching is at its best, although even a day trip in season can be very rewading.Double buck and down the escapement to the lake Tanganyika at kipili for several days reluxing before taking the MV liemba to Mahale mountain national park and chimpanzees or on to kigoma. Kigoma is an amenable stop for several days and Gombe national park is close by for an overnight. From Kigoma take train, bus or flight back to Dar es Salaam. Altenatively (and with more than one month ) continue overland from Kigoma to mwanza and lake Victoria , from where you could proceed to Serengeti and on to Arusha.
